👩‍⚕️ Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
“Nurturing Women’s Health Through Compassion and Science”
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Narayanshree Homoeopathic Medical College (NSHMC) is dedicated to the comprehensive study of women’s health, with a focus on pregnancy, childbirth, and reproductive wellness. The department provides an in-depth understanding of the physiological and pathological aspects of the female reproductive system, preparing students to manage a wide range of obstetric and gynecological conditions.
Through a blend of theoretical instruction and clinical exposure, students gain essential knowledge and practical skills in antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care, as well as the diagnosis and management of gynecological disorders. Emphasis is placed on maternal and fetal health, enabling future practitioners to offer preventive, curative, and supportive care across all stages of a woman’s life.
Hands-on clinical training, interactive learning sessions, and research opportunities equip students with the competence and confidence to handle real-world healthcare challenges. The department’s holistic approach integrates the principles of modern obstetrics and gynaecology with homeopathic philosophy, fostering compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
🏥 Laboratory & Clinical Facilities – Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
“Empowering Students to Provide Safe, Compassionate, and Skilled Maternal Care”
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Narayanshree Homoeopathic Medical College (NSHMC) is supported by well-equipped laboratory and clinical facilities that provide students with comprehensive practical exposure to all aspects of women’s health. The facilities are designed to train students in both the scientific and humanistic dimensions of obstetric and gynecological care.
The Obstetrics Laboratory is furnished with anatomical models, obstetric manikins, pelvis and fetal skull models, charts, and instruments that enable students to understand the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and childbirth. Demonstrations and simulation-based learning sessions allow students to practice normal delivery techniques, antenatal examinations, and emergency obstetric procedures under supervision.
The Clinical Training Facility, attached to the teaching hospital, offers students hands-on experience in antenatal and postnatal care, labor management, and gynecological case evaluation. Students participate in outpatient and inpatient care, learning to assess and manage conditions related to menstrual disorders, infertility, menopause, and other reproductive health concerns.
Special emphasis is placed on preventive health education, family welfare, and mother–child care, aligning with both homeopathic principles and modern public health standards. These facilities together nurture clinical competence, empathy, and ethical responsibility — preparing future physicians to serve women with skill, sensitivity, and holistic understanding.
